Jiří Kůs popularizes nanotechnology and the concept of the new industrial revolution and sharing society, ideas of the American economist Jeremy Rifkin. He is a technician who overlaps with the humanities. He studied industrial energetics and later sociology and psychology.
For over twenty years he worked in industrial automation as Commercial Director of a Czech-Italian firm. He co-founded the nanoSPACE company dealing with revolutionary anti-dust mite nanofibre beddings and he is president of the Czech Nanotechnology Industries Association, whose establishment he initiated.
His vision is that of a world where energy is decentralized and for free, there are self-driven electromobiles in the streets and people’s health is monitored by nanosensors.
Abstract Title: Nanofiber anti-allergic bedding
Abstract: Allergies are among the most common chronic conditions worldwide. The rise in prevalence of allergic diseases has continued in the industrialized world for more than 50 years. WHO predicts that in two years, 50% of Europeans will be allergic. Dust mites are the most common trigger of year-round allergies and asthma. Around 10 million dust mites are found in the average bed which is a reservoirs of their food, human skin cells. Anti dust mite bedding nanoSPACE with nanofiber membrane inside is the first preventive allergy protection with 100 % efficiency. It prevents dust-mites and their allergens from gathering in the bed. You can imagine nanofiber layer as a net with holes of the size 80 nm only. Unlike the dimensions of the dust mites are about 420000 nm, the allergen is 1000 nm big, bacteria 100-10000 nm, virus about 100 nm and scabies 300000 nm.
